What is Quabbin House?

Quabbin House is a small community within the community-at-large assisting adults in their recovery from mental illness. Quabbin House is one of more than 200 clubhouse programs in 43 states and 21 countries, based upon the “Fountain House” model of psychiatric rehabilitation and community support established in New York City in 1948.

Each member is guaranteed the following:

  • A safe place to come to
  • Meaningful work
  • Meaningful relationships

The Quabbin House is a community-based program that offers adults who are recovering from mental illness a family-style environment in which to establish social ties, explore educational options, and gain experience in the workplace while working side by side with our professional and caring staff. It is a place which relies upon its members’ talents, skills, and dreams in order to succeed. Each and every member is a highly valued contributor to its success.

The Quabbin House is a vocational rehabilitation program offering its members several employment options.

We offer transitional employment at numerous area businesses. We also assist members with vocational training and education such as resume building, accounting, meal preparation, menu planning, and custodial work in and outside the clubhouse.

Other areas in which we provide assistance to our members includes benefit issues, housing, and education.
